The ATS can perform sound transmission loss measurements to determine the sound insulation of building elements according to international (ISO 10140 series) and Australian (AS 1191) standards. The maximum partition size (for walls) is 4.51m × 2.65m although other smaller sizes may be used for elements such as doors and windows. The two reverberation chambers used in these tests are vibration isolated from one another and each have a volume greater than 200m³.
